Gear Review: Snowball Microphone

I may be late to the party for this, but as the saying goes, better late than never! A few weeks ago, I started using Blue Microphone’s Snowball Mic and I am downright giddy about it.

The Basics:
When you first open the box, you’ll find the Microphone itself, a round, sleek, retro- looking beauty; a sturdy mini- tripod mount; and a USB cable. You won’t find any installation software because you won’t need any! It’s plug and play.

There are 3 settings available on your mic, depending on the situation. Setting one is great for vocal work, whether you’re singing or doing a podcast. Setting two is built for live instruments and louder audio sources. Setting 3 is great for capturing environmental sound, i.e. conferences or interviews.

Live Test:
From Podcasting to recording Voice Overs and Vocals, this mic is a total rock star. The sound is super clear and full and has kicked my vocal work up quite a few notches.
