Kid Felix is one of our favorites here at Rock On Philly. They have been featured on WMMR, played live sessions on Radio 104.5, and they are hitting the stage of Hollystock Music and Arts Festival this Saturday (tomorrow!), and also playing at TLA on August 18th. Frontman Jake Falana took a moment to let us in on their musical favorites at the moment to make a playlist just for your ear drums!

Rock On Philly: What can we expect from your set at Hollystock 2015?
Jake Falana: If you want to see us put all our crazy and different influences together on stage, come see us at Hollystock this weekend Saturday August 8th.  Kid Felix is a high energy non stop entertainment rock and roll band.  We leave everything on the stage every night and love it.  I can guarantee if there’s one set you can’t miss at Hollystock it’s Kid Felix.  You never know what antics will conspire or how we will attempt to burn the stage down. We’ll  see you all at 9:30 Saturday night.

JF: Drummer and fan-favorite John Szachewicz has been on a serious Muse kick, saying it’s been nothing but Drones, New Regime, and Exhibit B.

JF: Brett Hagen our rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist has been a fan of Brick + Mortar since their first EP and is still listening to them, only he’s moved onto the new EP, Dropped.

JF: Julian Ungerer is our bass player and comic relief.  I’m also not sure if he’s ever listened to anyone besides Metallica. Lol

JF: Our lead guitarist and young gun Johnny Ambrutis is a huge Muse and Artic Monkeys fan.  If he’s not creating master pieces of his own on his mini Casio, you will definitely find him listening and ripping along to one of these bands.  “Reapers” is a personal  favorite of his at the moment.

JF: I myself have been listening to a lot of UK singer song writer James Bay.  His new album is awesome from first to last track.  Another favorite at the moment is Catfish and the Bottlemen.  Their debut has been on repeat for me as of late and I’d recommend checking out “Cocoon” which is the third track off The Balcony.

Be sure to catch Kid Felix’s set at Hollystock on Saturday night at on the Flying Fish Beer Garden Stage!
