There’s no shortage of shows this weekend. From old time rockers to young musicians to beer lovers, there’s something for everyone. Don’t let summer slip away!
The reassembled Lynyrd Skynyrd and Peter Frampton will be performing at the Mann Center. If you haven’t been to the Mann Center this season yet, it’ll be a beautiful night for it. It’s the only show where it’s actually acceptable to scream “FREE BIRD!”. Get your tickets here.
At only 20 years old, British singer-songwriter Birdy is touring the world and spreading her music. She will be stopping at the TLA, with lots of new music. Her latest album Beautiful Lies was released in March and resonates beautifully. Grab tickets here while you still can.
Rebelution hits River Stage on Friday night. The reggae-licious band from California will blow you away, just as they did when they toured with Sublime With Rome last year. You also get to see four other bands (The Green, J Boog, Stick Figure, Through the Roots) in one night so that’s a big bang for your buck. The weather forecast looks absolutely perfect for an outdoor show. Tickets are available here.
Starting at 2pm, all of our local favorites, including CRUISR, Boy Wonder, and Nik Greeley and The Operators, will be performing at Deschutes Street Pub on South Street. This free event will shut down South Street, where you can try over 40 different kinds of beer on tap and listen to some awesome jams.
Motion City Soundtrack‘s So Long, Farewell tour at Electric Factory will mark the beginning of their indefinite hiatus. They built up a huge fan base in the alternative rock scene and will be sorely missed. Opening acts include Have Mercy and Let It Happen. Get tickets here.
Flight of the Conchords at the Mann Center with comedian Arj Barker. These funny guys from New Zealand are on a huge national tour that sold out quickly. It’s been so long since they’ve toured and it’ll be a hilariously entertaining show. Tickets are still available here.
