LA’s Zipper Club is set to play at Union Transfer on Friday, November 25th with The Sounds. Ditch your Black Friday night plans and get to the show early to check them out because, lets be honest, who wants to wait in line for a shirt that was probably stepped on all day? Zipper Club is a stacked group of artists, Lissy Trullie, Mason James and Damar Davis. We got to chat with them ahead of the show.
Rock on Philly: You’re about to start tour with The Sounds, are you excited?
Yes we are very excited for this run. Looking to make some new fans and get the music out there.
ROP: Do you have an artist or album that you like to play when on the road?
Lissy: Benjamin Clementine
Damar: Band: Interpol “Elpintor”
ROP:Who makes the best playlists?
Collectively the band makes the best playlists
ROP: Is there any date on this tour that you’re particularly excited for?
ROP: You were in Philly in September, how do you feel about being back?
We are excited, since we got to play for the radio station [Radio 104.5] in the summer and now we are back.
ROP: Do you have any places in Philly that you like to go to?
Love Park, Wells Fargo center.
ROP: How did elements from your other projects come together to help form Zipper Club?
We take from our past bands to build for the future. The unique perspectives help with the writing process.
ROP: Nylon described your music video for “Going The Distance” saying it combined “elements of rock and roll with the weird and occult.” Did anyone preform a Supermoon ritual?
We were driving in the RV at the time and we gazed upon it. But there are no seance’s allowed in the RV, as it is a fire hazard.
