The Foundry was the most magical place to be on a Monday in Philadelphia as Texas’ Eisley made their way into town.
Almost halfway through their tour with Backwards Dancer and Civilian, you’d never guess that everyone in the band was a little sick, or according to front-woman Sherri Dupree-Bemis “snot is everywhere!”
Worcester’s Backwards Dancer from kicked the night off and if you were part of the crowd who showed up early, you should consider yourself lucky. If not, you missed a really great set. Powerful and a bit haunting, the emo band was the perfect band to open.
Civilian played next, they are a prime example of using your platform as a band for good. Ideas about the environment, politics, and community were floating around. The Nashville band is definitely worth checking out if you haven’t already.
Lastly, Eisley took the stage at around 9:30, although they won the hearts of the crowd long before they walked out on stage, cheers erupted and the band began to play. Playing a perfect mix of older songs and songs from their newest record I’m Only Dreaming, it was like the band cast a spell over the crowd, a very incredible spell. Eisley has always had a magical vibe, but their new tracks definitely take it to a new level.
