Beardfest 2017: Bigger, Better, Hairier

Beardfest, a “three day celebration of creative energy” organized by local prog rockers Out of the Beardspace, returns to South Jersey’s beautiful Pinelands Preserve in Hammonton this weekend!

What started in one of the band members’ backyards has turned into a beloved regional festival with a strong emphasis on community. Attendees can look forward to live music from Out of the Beardspace, Antibalas, TAUK, Nik Greeley & The Operators, Darla, and many more; educational workshops in yoga, arrow making, DIY honey, self defense and others; live art performances from ROMPUS, and of course lasting memories and new friendships.

Out of the Beardspace keyboardist and vocalist Sam Gutman has worked diligently with his bandmates to build on last year’s success and cultivate a diverse and powerful lineup. “With every year, we put together a more exciting lineup of music,” he says. “Festival goers are probably familiar with Tauk and Antibalas, and can expect a fresh surprise with We Used to Cut the Grass (a Zappa tribute band featuring original Zappa band member Ike Willis), Octave Cat (featuring Eli from Dopapod and Jesse from Lotus), Earthcry (featuring Anthony from Papadosio), Remember Jones (performing all of Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black with a 12-piece band), to name just a few.”

The festival begins this Thursday, June 1st and goes until early Sunday morning. Save money by purchasing tickets in advance! Watch the video below to get a taste of what you’ll experience if you go:
