Jennifer Logue : Founder & Editor-in-Chief

Jennifer Logue

Founder & Editor-in-Chief

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Jennifer got her start in music as a singer/songwriter. After graduating from Fordham University in New York City, she responded to a Craigslist ad for an on- camera reporter and soon found herself interviewing many of her musical inspirations, including Billy Joel, Stevie Nicks, Jon Bon Jovi, Jason Mraz, Iggy Pop, and Nile Rodgers. From then on, Logue has mixed a love for creating music with a love for music reporting. After moving back to Philly earlier this year, she became super inspired by the music here and founded “Rock On Philly.” When she is not recording, performing, or writing about music, she is most likely “occupying a venue,” drinking red wine, sweating it out in a Bikram class, running somewhere, practicing Italian, or spending her disposable income on vintage clothing and Living Social deals. Samantha Sweeney : Writer

Samantha Sweeney

Writer

Born and raised in the City of Brotherly Love, Samantha is a self-described music, fashion, language, and literature geek with a dash of existential-pondering and skull-print obsession. As a Temple U alum, she uses her grammar tactics to round up and weed out unnecessary comma splices and passive voice for Rock On Philly. She was also bred from an early age to be a music connoisseur/hoarder, brainwashed to love classic rock, Sturm und Drang, heavy metal, opera, blues, grunge, rhythm and blues, prog rock, EDM, showtunes, punk, thrash, New Wave, and industrial (among others). Jay Breslin

Writer

Jay Breslin is a Temple University student from West Chester, who loves the Philadelphia music scene. Studying Media Studies and Production with a particular interest in punk, he started PhillyPunk to shed some light on Philly’s great unknown DIY bands. Writing for Rock on Philly has helped expand his musical interests, which range from hardcore to indie. He loves going to shows, as well as photographing them. Follow him on twitter at @Jbres54.

Lauren Silvestri : Writer

Lauren Silvestri

Writer

Lauren grew up in a nearby western suburb of Philadelphia, and developed a deep love for all things rock thanks to her parents. She attended Rollins College in sunny central Florida and graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and minor in secondary education. During that time she was very involved with her college's radio station, 91.5 WPRK FM, and she found a passion for local radio, nonprofits, PR, and promotions. While she loved being tan year-round, she missed the culture and attitude of Philadelphia and moved back home after graduation. In addition to writing for Rock On Philly, she is a member of 93.3 WMMR FM's MMaRmy. Follow her on Twitter @ROPLaurenSil!

Amanda Silberling : Writer, Photographer

Amanda Silberling

Writer, Photographer

Amanda is a student at the University of Pennsylvania, where she takes too many poetry classes and drinks too much coffee. Growing up, Amanda was that weird girl who stood outside after shows until 1 AM, waiting for Alex Turner from Arctic Monkeys to say, "hi," only to watch him drive away in a stretch limo during a thunderstorm (still NOT bitter!). Now, she pretends to be a super-mature journalist, but she still secretly (or not-so-secretly) embarrasses herself in front of musicians that she loves. Amanda has heard the live debut of three Radiohead songs, an achievement that she will take to her grave. Feel free to discuss your ranking of Radiohead's discography with her on Twitter at @asilbwrites, where she also tweets about Pokémon, House Hunters International, and not feeling punk enough at basement shows, among other things.

Breanna Perry : Contributing Writer

Breanna Perry

Contributing Writer

Breanna comes to Philly by way of Nashville, and the West Coast before that. So far, though, Philly is the only one to really stick, thanks in part to the fantastic music scene. When not working to finish up her marketing degree or out at shows, Breanna can be found dancing upa storm, chilling out with some yoga, or learning to play upright bass. She's also pretty good at making friends with the cats who wander around her West Philly 'hood, and she's always up for a baseball game. Catch her occasional witticism on Twitter @DJButtons!
