Brett Fest At World Cafe Live Philly

If you were anywhere near World Café Live in Philly on Friday night, you could probably feel the love radiating from within. The Philly music community came together in a big way to support one of their own – Brett Talley – a member of IKE and many other bands. Brett was recently diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. The benefit – which was dubbed Brett Fest – included 15 bands that played for over 5 hours. All of the proceeds from the night will go directly to Brett and his medical expenses.

Mike Mitchell kicked off the benefit with an acoustic set that was followed with performances by Pawnshop Roses, IKE, John & Brittany, and many more. Brett joined most of the acts on stage through out the night. At one point his son joined him on stage, which was a really touching moment. Brett gave a tearful thank you to the crowd, which he ended with a powerful “F**k Cancer” cry. The support and love for Brett was inspiring and it was a great event to be a part of.
