Rocking Hard @ The Hard Rock: Bands and Bites Grand Finale

This past Tuesday was Rock On Philly’s first annual Bands and Bites Grand Finale @ The Hard Rock Cafe, and I can honestly say it went miles beyond our expectations. Since April, Rock On Philly has been hosting a monthly event called Bands and Bites, where local artists competed for Artist of the Month. Through the winners of those monthly competitions our performers for the Grand Finale were chosen!  Performing for the grand title of Artist of the Year, the five competitors were not only diverse in age, but in genre as well, creating an extremely well rounded showcase of the plethora of talent found in the Philadelphia area.

At 7pm, large crowds flooded the doors of the Hard Rock leaving barely a seat in the house. The show began with Paul Saint John, and continued on to Ashley Leone, Victoria Watts ,and Slot 55 , and finally ended with Hopscotch Jefferson. All of these artists brought an absurd amount of talent to Hard Rock, captivating their fans. Each performance was applause worthy, creating such a tight competition that the votes had to be counted multiple times. Viv and the Revival took the stage while ballots were being counted, bringing even more energy to the already electrified crowd.

After 3 hours of musical performances, Hopscotch Jefferson was deservingly announced Artist of the Year. Hopscotch Jefferson is a folky rock band from Philly with guitar riffs that will wow any listener.  If you haven’t heard of Hopscotch Jefferson, give them a long listen.

Our amazing sponsors, Centennial Lending Group, Hard Rock Cafe, and Big Picture Media played a huge part in making this event happen, along with Philly Sound StudiosEndy Photography, and Blue Microphones who contributed to the prize packages!

The Rock On Philly Bands and Bites Grand Finale was a major success. We are already looking forward to next year’s event and the talent that it will bring.
