FBI Asks Judge to Dismiss Suit Placed by Insane Clown Posse

The Detroit-based group Insane Clown Posse filed a suit against FBI early this year because of the organization deeming the group as a “loosely-organised hybrid gang” in their 2011 National Gang Threat Assessment. The Christian hip-hop duo (Joseph Bruce and Joseph Utsler, whose stage names are Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope), known for their Clown-esque makeup and large fan base that call themselves “juggalos,” has gathered some controversy over the years because of their appearance. They claim that the classification that they were given is “unwarranted and unlawful” and has allegedly led fans to lose their children, jobs, and/or homes because they were fans. However, attorneys from the FBI asked a Detroit Judge recently to dismiss the case because they believe  that there are “no grounds to sue, and that they aren’t responsible for any problems ICP is facing as a result of of the classification.”

At the moment, a hearing is being held about this dismissal and the case as a whole.
