Radio 104.5 Summer Block Party Show Goes Off Without a Hitch

On Saturday, the second free concert of the Radio 104.5 Summer Block Parties Series took place at Festival Pier. The change of venue after the last show’s mishaps at the Piazza went fairly smoothly. Festival Pier has plenty of space, room enough for vendors and food trucks, and a fleet of bathrooms at the ready.

The show took off with Bear Hands, Kongos, Alright Junior, and headliner The Head and the Heart. It was a relaxed affair, the audience either crowded on the floor or relaxing in lawn chairs across the sandy venue. The space lends itself to a nice festival atmosphere, perfect for summer.

The location of the next show with headliner Neon Trees is still TBA, but wherever it is, Rock On Philly recommends you bring yourself a blanket to spread out and relax. It is summer, after all! (And if it’s at Festival Pier, wear sandals!)
