Weird Al Returns with Eight Upcoming Videos

After three years, “Weird Al” Yankovic returns with his infamous song parodies, announcing that beginning Monday, July 14th, he will be releasing a music video each day. His album, entitled Mandatory Fun, will be released on the 15th. Not many details have been released on what will be on the album, but there is a listing on iTunes of the songs that will be on the new album, which includes titles such as “Sports Song,” “First World Problems,” and “NOW That’s What I Call Polka!” These titles alone seem to hint at another interesting and great album. Music Times took some guesses as to which songs Weird Al is parodying based on the Song titles of his new album, and so far they’ve matched up “Handy” with Pharrell Williams’ “Happy and “Tacky” with Iggy Azalea’s currently popular track “Fancy.”

To pass the time waiting for Mandatory Fun to come out, here are a few of Weird Al’s past parodies.

“White and Nerdy” parodied Chammilionaire’s “Riding Dirty.”

“Trapped in the Drive-Thru” parodied R. Kelly’s “Trapped in the Closet” series.

Weird Al’s band doesn’t get enough respect. They play almost every genre of music, even though 80% of the songs are parodies.

So excited for this, hope he still is as fresh as he was in the Amish Paradise era.

I remember amish paradise. I liked the beat more than the subject matter. I was in 3rd grade and had the tape. Tapes are cool.
