Liberty Music Fest Returns to Philly for Third Year

The Liberty Music Festival makes its third annual appearance in Philadelphia from August 20th to August 24th at Finnegan’s Wake with another round of original music showcases, educational panels, vendors, and workshops. The brain child of Jim Thorpe, Brian Cronin, and Vince Volz, who have all been instrumental in the music scene for years, this year’s festival is the largest yet and has been organized by DVT Entertainment and That Mag. Liberty Music Festival has also partnered three underground promoters in Philadelphia to bring together a unity among the scene with Broad Street Music GroupGashouse Radio, Official Philly: Hip Hop & R&B Showcase, and Phreedom Events bringing an EDM electricity to festival.

Bringing together musicians, fans, and industry professionals for one incredible weekend filled with events, the festival seeks to introduce music enthusiasts to up-and-coming, local and national bands and provide tips and tricks to attendees on industry topics such as publishing, touring, and social media.  Some of this weekend’s most anticipated industry panels to catch are Road Story w/ The Tour Managers, Producers, Publishing & Licensing your music, and Social Media: Tactics to gain more exposure, during which our very own founder Jennifer Logue will be speaking with Bill Chenevert of Philly Weekly, Roy LaManna of Trendsetting Marketing, and Jess Smith of True Voice Media.

This year, Liberty Music Fest has lined up over 100 different performers from a variety of genres, including Rock, Pop, Hip Hop, EDM, Punk, Indie, and more. Some of the top acts to see this year include The Blackfires (NY) who recent played with Aerosmith in Russia, EDM breakout artist MiTiS, bluegrass funk of The Currys from Florida, also Giffords Lane a grade school age band that has been featured by WMMR’s Preston & Steve’s several times, and much more.

Other sponsors include: Starr Hill Brewery, Exponent Entertainment, SSA Music, Unclaimed Bands, Dewey Beach Music Conference, Broken Goblet Brewing, Paystr, Uber, Broad Street Music Group, Maverick Entertainment, Phreedom Events, Gashouse Radio, Mirror Image Media, and Finnigans Wake.
