The Griswolds Excite Philly Once Again

Australian rockers The Griswolds returned to Philly last night and knocked the high-waisted shorts off of the crowd full of girls at Union Transfer. Most of the crowd was there to see Miniature Tigers as they toured promoting their latest album Cruel Runnings. As The Griswolds played, you could see the crowd listening and watching intently, getting more into it every song.

After playing Boot & Saddle less than two months ago, The Griswolds are becoming more recognizable as they’re getting more airtime on radio 104.5 and are featured as Spotify’s Emerge artist. They also ranked recently on Alt 18‘s chart as #8, beating well-known guys such as Grouplove and The Gaslight Anthem. Their new album Be Impressive is coming out in just over a week and the single off their album “Beware the Dog” already has over 73,000 views.

Their set consisted mostly of tracks off their new album, like “Right on Track“, and “Beware the Dog” was a hit with the crowd regardless if they knew it or not. They did play some of their older tracks off their EP Heart of a Lion including “Mississippi” and ending the set on high-energy “Heart of a Lion“. The vocals by Chris Whitehall are spectacular and the high-intensity beats kicked up by Lachlan West were perfect for Friday night. Their stage charisma was unmatched and they were able to joke about themselves and got the audience intrigued.

You can preorder the album on iTunes and get 3 tracks before the full album release. They are the next up and coming alt rock band so keep listening to them help them rise to the top!
