Monday Playlist: All Hallow’s Eve

You’re never too old to celebrate Halloween. Might be too old to trick-or-treat, but you can still have a ton of fun this time of year especially in and around Philadelphia. And the best part, Halloween falls on a Friday this year. There’s plenty of things to do for people who want to be frightened, shocked, or just looking to get a little weird and have some fun.

If you’re the classy costume party type, then head on down to Old City for Halloween at the Haunted Hotel Monaco. For you Michael Jackson fanatics, you won’t want to miss the Thriller Tribute being held at The World Cafe Live. The crew at Making Time is throwing a shindig, dubbed Pure Halloween at Union Transfer with headliners The Dum Dum Girls followed by a rad DJ dance party running until 2am. There’s another dance party and costume contest at The Trestle Inn as well as Silk City.

Of course, there’s always the mandatory trip to the Eastern State Penitentiary for a tour of the “Terror Behind the Walls” running through the weekend. For something a little different, The Treemont Restaurant is having a Sherlock Holmes Dinner and The Twisted Tail is having an “Old Western Halloween” celebration with fire breathers, fortune tellers, and live music. If you don’t mind heading outside of the city, there’s Haunted Hayrides and a Haunted Maze at The Bates Motel in Glen Mills or catch a classic showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show with full shadow cast and costume contest at The Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville.

Here’s a playlist to get us in the Halloween spirit.
