Monday Playlist: 2014

It’s that time of year where we are being inundated with year-end lists, so why not one more? Whether you fall on the pop side of things, are more of a rap/hip-hop fan, or just pure rock and roll through and through, music fans alike can agree 2014 was a great year for music.

This may be due to how lucky we are to be in this age of music discovery where we can find new music from artists ranging to upstarts and solo artists on independent labels, to artists signed by huge record companies, all for free with a click of the mouse. Streaming services have taken over, much to the chagrin of some record companies and a few artists, i.e. Tay Swiftness, but nonetheless, from the consumer side of things we have to be extremely grateful.

Here’s a playlist celebrating a great year in music. Disclaimer: these are not being presented as the best songs, the best albums, and hopefully not the worst either, but they are from some of the albums that I found myself returning to over the course of the year. Feel free to give a shout out to some of your favorite albums from 2014 in the comments!
