My favorite common song would have to be BE in that song he explains you can be whomever I love the fact that he had his dad on that track as well.

There is so many classic timeless songs he has! But I would say “I used to love H.E.R” would be one of the best true Realest stories hip-hop and music culture has ever heard. To play they song and realized he talking about hip-hop as a woman is simply amazing! And lines from those rhymes are still being used to this day. “I met this girl when I was ten years old, and what I loved much she had so much soul!” -common classic quote.

I will add this the song “rewind” on his new album nobody’s smiling is a time traveler, he takes you back and explain in unbelievable detail about the life and remembering good times with his good friend and hip-hop legend J-dilla. Common did not hold back not one but from that song, that’s what makes him a great artist

It’s impossible to narrow down to one track but if I must it’d be “I Used To Love H.E.R.”

So many great ones, listening to Common at that period of my life where every song meant something about my transition to adulthood.

I’d have to go with ‘It’s Your World’ Live it’s just unreal the way Com and his band/dj build the song throughout. Great stuff.
