Adrien Reju Offers Sneak Preview of New Album at Tin Angel 2/6

Despite her current home base in Woodstock, NY, angelic-voiced singer-songwriter Adrien Reju still claims “Philly will always be my hometown.” It is not unfounded–Reju cut her teeth in Philly’s close-knit folk and songwriting scene, amongst the likes of hometown favorites Chris Kasper, Amos Lee, Carsie Blanton, and more. Perhaps that’s why she’s chosen her show at the Tin Angel tonight for a sneak preview of her upcoming album, titled Unconventional Love Songs. After all, where better to debut an ambitious new project than in a town that has loved and supported your art for many years?

Tonight’s show is hosted by WXPN, and will also feature acoustic Philadelphian artist John Mallinen, who will be debuting a new record called Letting Go this spring.

Tickets are available online (here) or at the door for $12. Doors open at 7:30PM, and the show starts promptly at 8PM.

Get a taste of the ambition and effort behind Unconventional Love Songs by listening to the lead single from the forthcoming album, “Hemophiliac of Love,” below. The track, originally by King Missile, also features vocals from A.C. Newman of The New Pornographers, and showcases the strong shine of Reju’s voice in the midst of catchy, solid indie rock-esque instrumentation. Hear more tonight at the Tin Angel, located just steps from SEPTA’s 2nd Street stop on the Market-Frankford Line.
