Help At-Risk Youth at Sips for City Year with John Gilbride and More

Help out a great cause by sipping cocktails? It sounds too good to be true, but the City Year Philadelphia’s Associate Board is hosting its second-annual Sips for City Year cocktail event on Friday, June 12.

The event will take place from 7 – 10pm at the Philadelphia Impact Hub, which is located in Northern Liberties. Guests will receive an open bar package (beer and wine), hor d’oeuvres, and the chance to win raffle prizes such as Flyers memorabilia and Diamond Club seats at a Phillies game.

Rock On Philly has the pleasure of hosting live music and entertainment for the night. John Gilbride, who played our Kurt Cobain Songwriters in the Round, will perform including other special guests.

All proceeds will benefit the City Year Philadelphia program. City Year attempts to bridge the gap between educational opportunities in high-poverty areas. City Year members work with at-risk students in schools with a high dropout rate to not only increase the schools’ graduation rates, but also provide role models and mentors to students.

Tickets for Sips for City Year cost $40 in advance here, and the online ticket purchases will shut down at 5PM on Thursday, June 11. Tickets will also be sold at the door for $50.

Join Rock On Philly for one of the most beneficial summer parties of the season!
