On this day in 1982, soul queen Diana Ross received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. At 71 years old, the diva is still performing her glorious hits. Rock On Philly looks back at her career as we remind ourselves what a boss lady Diana Ross really is.

1960’s – Slaying as lead singer of The Supremes, paving the way for Beyoncé of Destiny’s Child

1970’s – Solo career brings even more hits

1972 – Oscar-worthy performance in Lady Sings the Blues

1978 – The Wiz – She was the modern Dorothy in this Wizard of Oz remake

1980’s –  Still killing it in the 80’s

…Especially in this duet with Lionel Richie

2012 – received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award

The course of music history truly would have changed if Diana Ross wasn’t present in this world. Diana Ross is genuinely one of the most supreme soul singers of this lifetime, and we should all just bow in presence.
