All Hail Halsey: Singer/Songwriter Captivates Crowd at the Wells Fargo Center

Halsey is an indie pop singer/songwriter that has burst onto the scene in a big way. She was the most tweeted about artist at SXSW this year and her soon-to-be released debut album, Badlands, went to #2 on iTunes within an hour of being announced for pre-order.

The real test of an artist’s longevity these days is- “Can they put on a great live show?” After seeing Halsey open for Imagine Dragons at the Wells Fargo Center this past Saturday, that answer is a resounding yes.

Her powerful, emotive voice has a haunting quality to it and it’s clear that she wraps herself up completely in the music. Halsey really feels it. She really is authentic and in today’s plastic world, she’s a breath of fresh air. Philly can be one of the toughest music cities to perform for because the fans are also honest and authentic. Halsey had the crowd in the palm of her hand.

She performed songs from her Room 93 EP including one of my favorites, “Ghost.” She also performed a few tunes I didn’t recognize, which I’m presuming will be on her debut album.

If you missed the show, we’ve got you covered with photos!
