Best Weekend Ever: Night Market, Firefly, Molestice & More!

The biggest, 4-day music festival of the Philadelphia area is here! The sold out Firefly Music Festival will take place in the woods of Dover, DE from Thursday until Sunday. If you are missing out on this affair, you can always hit up cool shows in Philly. As a bonus stop, many Firefly performers are performing in Philly before or after their Firefly set. Bring on the sunscreen and flower headdress and get ready for the time of your life!

Thursday 6/18:

Day One of Firefly will include awesome artists like The Kooks, X Ambassadors, and Grizfolk. Get to the grounds early and kick off the festival weekend!

Night Market will pop up in the Callowhill neighborhood on Thursday night. Philadelphia’s night markets are full of great eats and live music so it’s definitely a sight to see if you’re up for a stroll.

YouTube star Tori Kelly will also be performing at TLA on Thursday night. Her new album will be released on June 23rd so get a preview of her new music by checking her out live. Get your tickets here.

Friday 6/19:

Friday is packed with great musicians at Firefly, but here are our favorites: Walk the Moon, IntergalactixPaul McCartney, Modest MouseEchosmith…and the list goes on and on…and on…

Jungle who performs at Firefly on Thursday will be playing at Union Transfer on Friday night. Get a little taste of what you might’ve heard at the festival and see them live! Get your tickets here.

Saturday 6/20:

At noon, Molestice will be taking place at Race and Mole Street. It’s a free annual block party featuring a rad lineup of local bands and food trucks. Get more info here!

Molestice June 20th

Local act Marian Hill will be performing on Friday at Firefly, and on Saturday they will be at Union Transfer with Parquet Courts, Mac DeMarco, and The Suffers for the MTWB Benefit Concert. Grab your tickets here.

A Night Of Deep Funk And Soul at The Fire will feature Third Coast Kings, Supreme And The New Experience, and Noel Scales. Be prepared for the heavy amount of moving you’ll be doing with your funky dancing shoes.

Saturday at Firefly will consist of many big names, including Andrew McMahon, Kings of Leon, Kid Cudi, and Spoon. I personally recommend seeing The Griswolds from Australia because they are wild party boys who know how to rock.

Sunday 6/21:

Bastille, The Killers, Citizen Cope, Tove Lo, Hozier, and other cool performers are staying around for their set on Sunday at the festival.

Come check out Trenton’s Art All Night, a pop-up community art exhibit with tons of live music. There will be activities for all ages and it starts early enough in the day that you can rest up for…

…SIR PAUL MCCARTNEY. He’s staying in the area an extra few days so he can play at Wells Fargo Center. How nice of him. The show is practically sold-out, but you can check for tickets here.
