Best Weekend Ever: Shows Overload

Want to get out and see some cool shows this weekend? Here’s Rock On Philly’s top picks for this weekend in entertainment.

Friday 6/5:

Australian band DMA’s will be bringing some nostalgia to Boot & Saddle on Friday night. Check out Rock On Philly’s exclusive interview with them here and get your tickets here.

CRUISR is playing at Johnny Brenda’s as the continue their tour with Bleachers. The event is sponsored by Victory Brewing Company so you’ll know there’ll be some good drinks.

Reggae/hip-hop master Michael Franti & Spearhead are going to bring all the groove at Electric Factory. Their set will be opened by The Soul Rebels. Get your tickets here.

Saturday 6/6:

In nearby Smithville, NJ (twenty minutes from Atlantic City), Rockabilly Uprising is taking place early in the day to showcase some cool, vintage cars, beautiful pinups, and rockin’ good music by Philly natives and Zombie Prom mainstays The Young Werewolves.

At night, there’s plenty of time to check out Arizona based Calexico at Union Transfer. They will add some Tex-Mex flair to their indie rock music.

Sunday 6/7:

Radio 104.5 Block Party at Festival Pier with New Politics, Big Data, A Silent Film, MisterWives, Foxtrot and the Get Down will be popping. With good bands, faux beach, and a nice range of food options, what else can you ask for from a summer Sunday in Philly?
