The Spring Awakening Music Festival (yes, it is still springtime) will return once again to Chicago from June 12 – 14. 3-day and day passes are still available for the EDM fest. Here are five of the many reasons you should consider traveling to Chicago for an impromptu adventure.

5. Historical Location

SAMF will take place at Chicago’s Soldier Field, a historic football stadium. Opened in 1924, it is the nation’s oldest running NFL stadium and the Chicago Bears still call it their home. Soldier Field has hosted many concerts in the past, including The Grateful Dead‘s last performances together on July 8 and 9 in 1995.

4. Themed Stages

This year, SAMF will feature an exclusive themed stage for each day. Friday will host the Trance Arena, Saturday will host the Bass Kitchen, and Sunday will host the Beatport Stage. With names like those you can expect a nice variety of EDM artists and some insane bass drops.

3. Silent Disco!

SAMF will bring back Silent Disco, a crowd favorite, again with over 15 artists spinning the entire 3-day festival. Check out the lineup here. They put the music IN your ears!

2. The Diverse Lineup

Over a hundred artists from all walks of EDM will take the stage this year at SAMF. From the big names (Tiesto, Diplo, Zedd), to the up-and-comers (Shiba San, Aero Chord), and local Chicago artists (Louis the Child, Light.Em.Up.), you can see your favorite EDM artists and discover new favorites as well. You can investigate some of the artists’ music through the official SAMF 2015 Mix Series here.
