Best Moments from Ardmore Music Hall’s Live From the Lot with Doctor John and the Nite Trippers, Bustle In Your Hedgerow and More!

Sunday at Ardmore Music Hall‘s Live From the Lot mini festival had all of the ups and none of the downs that could happen in an outdoor venue. The sun was shining, the food was steaming, the strawberry-hibiscus ice tea was icing, and all of the jams were ever-flowing in the most psychedelic of ways.

American Babies started the day off strong with some awesome sounds. With strong instrumentation and some groovy beats, they got the juices flowing and the crowd hopping.

Pink Talking Fish continued that energy flow with fun and funky twists on old favorites, including an awesome, stripped-down cover of “Psycho Killer” by Talking Heads.

Bustle In Your Hedgerow (made up of Joe Russo, Marco Benevento, Dave Dreiwitz, and Scott Metzger) did Led Zeppelin proud in an orchestral rendition of the iconic band’s tunes, including a sick cover of “Kashmir” that gave me chills up and down my spine. Though sound equipment shorted midway through their set, the band kept right on playing, as if it was meant to happen.

Dr. John and the Nite Trippers gave the crowd just what the doctor ordered with some jazzy-bluesy tunes that were the perfect soundtrack to the lazy Sunday evening. His sharp piano skills, signature raspy voice, and upbeat beats made this performance one for the books. Six Grammys later, he still has got it!
