Names from the blog post will put into a drawing and a winner will be selected at a live concert event on October 10th, hosted by Gretsch Guitars. You must be present at the show to win. There will also be a second chance drawing if you don’t win the first time!

On October 10th, Bourbon and Branch will present Twang-O-Rama, a Gretsch Guitars showcase featuring the sounds and stylings of Philly’s own exotica punk orchestra Mercury Radio Theater, local cult favorites Gringo Motel, and New Yorkers Big Lazy! Get ready for mariachi, gypsy dance melodies, and a grand ol’ sweaty time and, most importantly, potentially walking away with a brand new guitar! Get tickets and more info here.

    I’m hoping to put a down payment on a Gretsch semi hollow. Center block soon. Chances are I’m too behind in bills. – winning this would help remove that block for and be great to add to an actual ‘Gretsch’ collection. And of course I’d play it religiously.

    Of all of my mistakes during my years living in New York one that looms- possibly- largest, is never being able to take guitar lessons with Stephen of Big Lazy.

    On a related note: among the incentives I was alerted to when a band I was in was signed to a record deal, relocating to Brooklyn was that I would be able to enjoy a Gretsch endorsement. I was elated.
    It was not to be. It turned out that the label head had been a bit too liberal with how he utilized the connection, abusing it extensively.

    That was just one of the earliest misfortunes…

    The doctor said I need more twang in my diet, but my insurance says I fall in the donut hole, so if I win big Gretsch then I won’t have to use twang crutches anymore or buy grey market twang from the bros at the Rock Shack in the Cherry Hill Mall.
