Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Son Little released his debut self-titled album Friday, and it redefines not only R&B and soul music, but it proves that his music can be expanded and reshaped into something that cannot be categorized just under one genre. This album, released under Anti- Records, uses a bit of auto-tuned vocals, but the combination of Little’s natural and slightly rough vocals mixed with hints of electronic synths, guitar, and drums creates a sound that can be deemed the next generation of R&B.

Many turn their nose to auto-tuned vocals, but recently with several different artist, I’ve noticed them use it as a powerful tool. Likewise, I’ve seen many artist not conform to one genre. Because of these 2 factors, I am really excited to check out Son Little!
