This past Saturday, starting at around 9 AM, the Electric Factory was taken over by an immensely long line of fans waiting to see Welsh songstress Marina Diamandis, better know as Marina and the Diamondsat her sold-out show that night. The line consisted of fans wearing bodysuits, handmade headbands with large fruits covered in glitter on top reminiscent of the ones Diamandis has been wearing since she started touring for her third studio album Froot, and light-up sneakers, along with tour shirts from the singer’s previous Lonely Hearts Club tour. When I asked the first ten or so people in line how long they waited, they said since 11:30pm the night before, and it was obvious considering they had lawn chairs, boxes of pizza, and a bunch of blankets to keep warm. The Diamonds, whom Diamandis has referenced as her fans, showed their dedication up to the last second when the doors opened and let roughly 2,250 fans in to experience what ended up being an amazing show.

I can’t believe people waited almost a full day in line – Marina is great, but is she THAT great? Wow.

I’m glad she played some songs from her previous albums too, I wasn’t the biggest fan of Froot.
