April is ending already and with May, comes warmer weather and outdoor shows! Don’t miss out on getting sun in as you enjoy some of your favorite bands!

Thursday 4/28:

The rockers of Pearl Jam are coming to the Wells Fargo Center for an unforgettably sold-out night. Pearl Jam is just one of many artists who cancelled their shows in North Carolina to show their support for the LGBT community after HB2 was put into place. Thankfully, the City of Brotherly Love is a place where discrimination is not tolerated and Pearl Jam can play for the loving fans in peace. Try getting tickets here if you haven’t already bought them!

Friday 4/29:

Rock On Philly’s Battle of the College Bands is back for thexample Spring Semester! The bands performing have at least one member currently attending college. This time, the bands competing for the title are The Mysteries from UArts, Minor Setbacks from Drexel and Temple, Avenue Eight from Fordham University, Hyper, Inc from CCP. The event will be hosted at conveniently located Hard Rock Cafe. If you’ve been looking for new sound, come check out the bands and mingle with them, all for $5.

Hometown band The Lawsuits are performing at The Foundry, along with more local artists like Foxtrot & the Get Down, and Former Belle. All of these bands are great assets to the Philly music scene. If you can get to the show, it’s strongly recommend you check them out. Get tickets here.

The Thermals from Portland are at Union Transfer. They released their new studio album We Disappear in March through Saddle Creek Records. The album has a rebellious side and the instrumentals are pretty rad. Their politically driven energy is perfect for the election season. Get tickets here.

Saturday 4/30:

Actress, singer and wife of Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson will be at World Cafe Live on Saturday. Her self-titled album was released in March. Rita Wilson is no stranger to performing in front of a large crowd, with her resume including many roles on Broadway. The show is sold out. Have fun ticket holders!

Siblings Elliot and Natalie Bergman of Wild Belle will be performing at Underground Arts. They encompass a variety of genres into their music, including ska and funk. Their latest release Dreamland was released on April 15th. “Keep You” has the ultimate chill vibe and was even used in Pitch Perfect. Get tickets here.

With the block party ending around sunset, you still have time to stay out and catch another show! Philly artist Santigold will be coming home for a sold out show at TLA. Her latest album 99¢ released through Atlantic Records is gold and fun. If you don’t have tickets yet, try finding them here.
