The Struts Wow Crowd at First Pierre Presents Show at Ardmore Music Hall

The Struts have had quite the weekend. After playing two sets at Firefly, the glam rock British band stopped by Ardmore Music Hall for an intimate afternoon concert. This afternoon was the first in a special “Pierre Presents” series by 93.3 WMMR FM.

These events, hosted by longtime WMMR DJ Pierre Robert, aim to bring up and coming talent to Philly for special small performances and Q&A sessions. All of these concerts are free and invitation only. For this particular show, fans could win tickets on-air on WMMR, at WMMR ticket raids last week, and at Ardmore Music Hall.

I couldn’t think of a better band to start the “Pierre Present” series than The Struts. Despite their tiring schedule and the early load-in time, all the members displayed amazing energy throughout the short set. Lead singer Luke Spiller especially knows how to include the audience during songs for a collaborative experience.

Before the band played some songs off of their latest album, Everybody Wants, audience members watched Pierre ask the band about a wide range of topics. These questions included who they mentioned in their thank you album liner notes, the recent US gun violence, and expressing yourself freely.

After the explosive performance, Pierre claimed to the crowd that once The Struts become the biggest rock band in the world (which is becoming more of a reality each day), people will look at us in wonder when we explain that we saw The Struts at the intimate Ardmore Music Hall. I already feel extremely lucky to have been there, and I’m excited to see where The Struts head from here.

Keep posted on to watch the The Struts’ Q&A and performance, and stay tuned for the next Pierre Presents event at the Ardmore Music Hall!
