Philadelphia band Johnny Popcorn  recently dropped a new single, “GO GO GO!“announced their new album, Totem Pole. The band’s follow up to their 2012 debut The Crow, will be released on September 30th via MAD Dragon Records, Drexel University’s student-run record label.

Johnny Popcorn, comprised of MC-turned-singer/songwriter and producer, Hezekiah, guitarist Lloyd Alexander, and singer/songwriter Marjani Coral, marks its return by continuing to defy all possible genre classification. “GO GO GO!” is surprisingly straight-forward, driven mostly by a jittery acoustic guitar and Hezekiah’s urgent vocals set before chopped up gang vocals and clapping. The delivery of all these elements create a vivacious track that sounds so real and personal you can’t help but get caught up in it! Listen to it below!

Trebel Music recently interviewed the band, where they revealed the story behind the name Johnny Popcorn, how Totem Pole came together, and how they have grown stronger since its inception. Click here to read more!
