Best Weekend Ever: Prophets of Rage, Streisand, Drake!

The weather is not giving us a break with the excessive heat. Be careful heading to outdoor shows where it’ll be crowded and overheating will be a possibility.

Friday 8/19:

Goo Goo Dolls are playing at Festival Pier with Collective Soul. Both bands will make you feel good with their emotionally charged hits like “Iris” by Goo Goo Dolls and “Shine” by Collective Soul. Bring tissues in case you feel your emotions a little more extra sensitive. You can buy tickets here.

 

If you’re looking for a chill night, go to TLA for an acoustic night with Citizen Cope. The soulful Clarence Greenwood will sooth your soul to your heart’s content and leave you feeling blessed. Get tickets here.

 

Saturday 8/20:

Slightly Stoopid and SOJA are back for their annual return to Festival Pier. These bands will leave you feeling high on life. Get there early and make sure you catch reggae band Fortunate Youth perform “Burn One.” Get your tickets here.

 

 

Barbra Streisand, one of the biggest names in American music and film, will be serenading at the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday night. The EGOT winner is releasing her latest compilation of Broadway favorites sung as duets with other A-listers, including Seth MacFarlane, Jamie Foxx, Hugh Jackman, and Melissa McCarthy, on August 26th. Prophets of Rage is a special collaboration between members of Public Enemy, Rage Against the Machine, Cypress Hill. This year has been a comeback for throwback bands and this is topping all other throwback shows with super talents coming together to make something new. Along with Awolnation, they are taking stage at BB&T Pavilion for their Make America Rage Again Tour. Get your tickets here for a chance to see something extremely unique.

 

Sunday 8/21:

Drake and Future are touring together and coming to the Wells Fargo Center. Try getting tickets here, but the show is close to sold out! He is coming back in October though, so don’t be too bummed out if you can’t see him this time around.

 

Ween, originally from Bucks Country, will be at Festival Pier. The alternative rock band puts on a friendly show and brings the best fans. They took a 3 year hiatus but are back, to much relief from their fans. Tickets are available here.
