This concert season is heating up! From energetic small shows to insane, Philly-approved fests, kick off June right with our picks for your Best Weekend Ever.



Thursday, 6/1

Philly-based vocal ensemble Variant 6 and multi-instrumentalist/composer Andrew Lipke team up for what is sure to be an amazing musical journey at the Neighborhood House at Christ Church in Old City. The show will explore music from other lands and composers, culminating in Lipke’s world premiere of “Kamala.” Get more info and tickets here.

Kentucky boys White Reaper are bringing their garage punk sound to MilkBoy on Chestnut St tonight. With an album called The World’s Greatest Rock Band, the band just might live up to the hype! Find out for yourself and get tickets here. This show is 21+.

South Jersey’s Beardfest 2017 kicks off tonight in Hamilton at the Pinelands Preserve. From acts like TAUK, Darla, Nik Greeley & The Operators to the organizers themselves, Out of the Beardspace, you can’t go wrong at this three-day festival! Get more info here.

Friday, 6/2

Philly boys Levee Drivers are kicking it up a notch at Johnny Brenda’s tonight with Tutlie and Commonwealth Choir. Check out their new video for “There You Go” below and get tickets to see them here. This show is 21+.

Just a couple blocks over, the men of Phoenix will be taking names at the Fillmore Philadelphia. The band is on tour for their upcoming album Ti Amo (out June 9), and you could here it live first! Take a chance and get tickets here.

Saturday, 6/3

Thomas Rhett at BB&T Pavillion

Just over the Delaware, country music star Thomas Rhett will be gracing our ears with his kickin’ tunes at BB&T Pavilion. Get tickets here.

Rock to the Future, an organization that provides music education programs for Philly youth, presents its Year End Student Showcase at Union Transfer. The showcase–now in its seventh year–features performances by student bands and a choral ensemble from Philly’s MusiCore program. The event is free and is a great way to support our future musicians!
