Thousands of fans have come together in support of Philadelphia rapper, Meek Mill, who was sentenced to 2 to 4 years in prison last week for violating his parole.

Hip hop mogul Jay-Z called the sentence “unjust and heavy-handed,” and fans around the world signed petitions calling for the recusal of Judge Genece E. Brinkley, who presided over the case.

Tonight, a rally has been announced for 5:00 p.m. tonight at The Justice Juanita Kidd Stout Center for Criminal Justice (1301 Filbert St.).

Confirmed speakers include: Dr. Julius Erving (former Philadelphia 76ers players), Malcolm Jenkins (Eagles player), Vinny Curry (Eagles player), Freeway (Hip hop artist from Philadelphia), Justine Skye (singer, songwriter, actress and model), Shaka Senghor (NY Times best-selling author and criminal justice reform advocate), Pennsylvania State Representative 186th District Jordan Harris (Chairman of the PA Legislative Black Caucus) , Bill Cobb (Deputy Director of the ACLU’s Campaign for Smart Justice)  and Keir-Bradford Grey (Chief Defender of the Defender Association of Philadelphia).

You can follow the rally on social media using the hashtags: #rally4meek, #freemeekmill and #justice4meek.
