Vinnie Paolizzi Celebrates New EP With A Thanksgiving Eve Show

Vinnie Paolizzi performs Boxcar Brewpub in West Chester for his EP release.

West Chester singer/songwriter, Vinnie Paolizzi, is dedicated to his craft, having played over 250 shows in the past two years throughout the Philadelphia region.

Tonight on Thanksgiving Eve, Paolizzi will perform an EP release show in his hometown of West Chester at Boxcar Brewpub, located at 142 E. Market Street.

“I am from West Chester and I have been trying to plan a big show there for years but haven’t been able to get the venue and timing right. The night before Thanksgiving is a huge night out in town and Boxcar has an amazing stage so I am pumped about the show,” he says.

The new “Kids” EP was recorded at Morningstar Studios in Norristown with two-time Grammy winner, Glenn Barratt and even features members of Melody Gardot’s backing band as studio musicians.

“I find inspiration from everyday life and conversation,” Paolizzi notes. “ I’m not a songwriter with a political agenda — it’s just about stories. There is a song on this EP about my childhood friend’s overdose and death; there is a song about children of divorce;  there is one song I wrote that I like to think is what Johnny Cash would write if he was trying to go poppy. I believe there is power in everyday experiences and telling those stories.”

As far as sound goes, Paolizzi’s music can be described as a mix of folk and rock and he cites Jackson Browne, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits, Butch Walker and The Eagles as his influences.
