Kevin West’s Unique Brand of Americana Cannot Go Unnoticed

Kevin West

Noting influences as wide ranging as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Tupac Shakur, and Dave Matthews, Kevin West is unwilling to simply make standard carbon copy pop rock. Being raised down the road in New Jersey, West now hails from Los Angeles, but frequents the East Coast, due to his roots here.

With an Americana sound all his own, West’s lead single from his latest album Story of My Life Is called “Best of Mine” and is a perfect track for a gloomy day like today. It’s upbeat, optimistic, and full of life. While his music floats between styles and influences, this single finds its home squarely in a country/western inspired indie rock sound that would appeal to fans of Ryan Adams, Wilco, and Zac Brown Band alike. A perfect track for your workout or housecleaning playlist, it’s hard to sit still while Kevin and his band perform this catchy tune.
